Community guidelines
This is a place to find and commission New Orleans artists with disabilities. Keep it kind, honest and safe.
Everyone
- Respect. No hate speech, slurs, harassment, threats or bullying, including about disability, race, religion, gender, sexuality or age.
- Be honest. Show your own work. No fake profiles, bought or copied art, spam, bots, or "too good to be true" offers.
- Keep it legal. No scams, no requests for gift cards, and no asking for money before a deal is clear.
- Use the right rating. Adult-oriented work goes in the 21+ area only.
- See something? Report it. Every profile has a Report link. Reports are reviewed, and profiles with several reports are hidden automatically until a moderator looks.
How moderation works
When a profile is submitted, an automatic check looks for hate speech, spam, scams, bots and, for young artists, personal info. Clean profiles go live. Anything flagged waits for a person to review. People can report a profile at any time, and a moderator decides what happens.
Young artists (ages 12–17)
For young artists, written for you:
- Your art is public. You aren't. Your profile shows your art and your first name or art name. Never your last name, school, address, phone, email or social media.
- Post your art, not yourself. Take photos of your work, not selfies. Check the background for things like a school logo, house number, street sign, car plate or mail with your address.
- Your parent or guardian handles every request. Buyers never message you directly. If anyone tries to reach you another way, saying they found you here, tell your parent or a trusted adult.
- Never move to another app. Real customers don't need your Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Discord or phone number.
- Red flags: someone asks for photos of you, wants to meet without your parent, offers gifts or money that have nothing to do with your art, says to keep a secret, or is flattering in a way that feels weird. Stop, and tell an adult.
- Making videos (YouTube, TikTok, Reels)? Turn off location tags, don't film your house or street, don't wear your school uniform or name, and read comments with a parent. You can turn comments off.
- It's never your fault. If something online makes you uncomfortable, you can always tell someone. Use the Report link, or tell your parent.
For parents and guardians:
- You own the account. Every commission request goes to your email, after an automatic safety check. Messages that look unsafe are held for a moderator and never delivered.
- Meet buyers yourself, in public or by video, and handle payment yourself. Never send your child to deliver work alone.
- We store only your child's first name or art name and birth month and year. When they turn 18, their profile leaves the Young Artists section; they can then create their own adult profile.
- You can pause the profile, or permanently delete it with all its photos and messages, at any time from Settings.
For buyers: When you commission a young artist, you're talking to their parent or guardian. Keep requests about the art. Requests for personal info, photos of the artist, or private contact will be blocked and may be reported.
